Nature vs. Nurture, It is an age-old discussion. For graphic artist Lundin, the argument is moot. Her designs are the happy alchemy of her birthplace, education, home, family and inspirational surroundings.
Born in sunny Maui and raised under California’s blue coastal skies, Lundin unsurprisingly has always been motivated by the natural world around her and moved by her internal response to it. Lundin’s upfront and optimistic character is reflected in her designs, which incorporate sinuous lines and clear, contemporary use of colors. Her independent and declarative style attracts attention, admiration and curiosity.
Following her graduation from SDSU with a BA in Art, Graphic Design Emphasis, Lundin dove into freelance assignments, creating flyers and advertisements for local coastal businesses. Employment with the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce exposed her to the art of page layout and sharpened her skills at ad design. The lucky chamber benefited from Lundin’s fresh approach to workaday topics. Her influence on the Carlsbad Business Journal is clear in the publication’s approachable, clean design during her tenure as the Chamber’s graphic artist. Further freelance opportunities developed her skills in package design, tattoo design, large-format graphics, and company branding.
Currently, Lundin continues to cast her delightful, artistic spell as she divides her time and multiplies her talents as a graphic artist for the City of Carlsbad and myriad freelance assignments. Among her favorite recent freelance assignments are the many event announcements she has been commissioned to design. Wedding invitations and shower invitations are exactly the kind of happy event that bring out the optimistic, playful, and (above all) unique aspect of Lundin’s ebullient talent. Judge for yourself and see.
I started creating graphics for RMHCSD in 2010. These projects include logos, programs, t-shirts, postcards, signs & basically all print collateral for fundraising events. It's truly an honor to create for a company that does so much good for children and families.
I'm a graphic designer for the City of Carlsbad. Here are a few of my most recent projects.
EIHC hired me to do a complete rebrand. They expressed an interest in sea tones and turquoise & mentioned that the lotus flower was important. Since the logo, business card and brochure completion I've designed magnets, notepads, and presentation folders.
